  • ​🇮🇹 Biblioteca del Fondazione Istituto dei Sordi di Torino – The Library of the Fondazione Istituto dei Sordi di Torino is actively promoting the preservation and appreciation of Deaf heritage, art, and history. It safeguards many historical artworks and collects and preserves valuable historical documents, books and resources connected to the Deaf community, Deaf education, Deaf culture, and signed languages, some dating as far back as the 16th century. 70 linear meters of historical archives are available for research purposes, covering the period from 1780 to 1999. The library holds valuable books, including works by l’abbé Charles-Michel de l’Épée, Laurent Clerc, and others, in several languages such as Spanish, German, French, and Italian and also dictionaries of sign languages from around the world. The archive is open to researchers and visitors interested in the history of the Deaf community.
